About the Artist

Born in Israel, Oded Noy’s early life was filled with the sounds of classical music as a family ritual. It wasn’t long before he discovered jazz, which captivated him with its expressive and inspirational qualities. After joining the government-mandated armed services,  his musical journey took a significant turn at the air-force base officer’s club, where he learned to play the piano and picked up the trombone. Joining a jazz band in Israel, Oded toured with the “From The Other Side” band before moving to the US.

In Los Angeles, while navigating the life of a jazz musician, Oded found himself still searching for deeper fulfillment. This quest led him inward, discovering meditation and its transformative power. During this period, he crafted his first solo instrumental albums. As a dyslexic, Oded naturally gravitated towards the instrumental, as lyrics didn’t hold the same resonance for him. Meditation not only changed his outlook on life but also inspired him to start writing short Zen poems. Encouraged by friends, he began sharing a weekly poem, a tradition that has continued since 2014.

Inspired by his poetry, Oded discovered the urge to write more prompting him to take courses in lyric writing. This journey led him to work with music producers and vocal coaches, combining his writing, voice, and sounds culminating in a steady stream of songs and albums.

Most recently, Oded discovered the power of short-form video, blending instrumental shorts with spoken word poems and visual experiences.

This Website – Personal Note from Oded

This website is a labor of love, a space to share my art with the world. It features a complete catalog of my poetry and music to date, along with thematic explorations in the “Journeys” section.

Please take a moment to read and reflect on the poems, listen to the songs, instrumental and soundscapes, and dive into some videos. I am adding new content and journeys weekly.  Please come back and explore. I hope you enjoy the experience.

Humbly,
